Hello! My name is Jared Westin. I am thirty-six years old and come from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am the coordinator of the CALL program. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Education, both from the University of Calgary. I've been a teacher for over 7 years, teaching in Taiwan and Canada. I have been using computers for some time now. I started using them at university where I had to use computers for research and for writing essays. Later, I began using the Internet to do research and to download music. Recently, I've discovered the interesting opportunities to communicate with my students by using powerpoint presentations and blogs (or "web logs") to exchange information and present students' work. I think the students will have a great time utilizing these new and exciting technologies. I started at Shin Min in 2006. I'm really excited to be working in the CALL computer lab. It's a new and interesting challenge for me. I am married and have a daughter and new baby son! Feel free to reach me at my teacher email: teacherjared@gmail.com By the way, that's me with my mom in the picture above!
Hi! My name is Daryl Streat. I am one of the new CALL teachers for 2009. I have been a teacher at Shin Min since 2005. During that time I have been a teacher for ESL, P.E. and Drama classes. I am very excited to be teaching CALL. I think it will be lots of fun.
Hi! My name is Timmy Moore and I'm happy to say I'm one of the new CALL teachers this year. I've been teaching ESL at Shin Min since 2006, and I'm glad to have the chance to teach language in a new and interesting way.
I studied English Literature and History in my hometown of London, Canada in 1997 and I've been teaching ESL in Asia ever since! I taught in Seoul, Korea for 3 years, in Taipei for 4 years, and this is my third year at Shin Min.
I really enjoy using computers, and since I don't watch much television, surfing the net is a lot of what I do for fun. I really look forward to helping the students learn new skills both in language and in practical computer use.
